Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has become increasingly prevalent in recent years, especially in elderly adults, and it has been estimated that approximately 50% of American people aged 70 and older have been diagnosed with CKD.Moreover, impaired kidney function is associated with all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in the oldest adults.
