I read with interest both papers by Khan et al in the March 2010 issue of the Journal that focused on the pathophysiology of and current treatment options for cellulite. The authors are to be congratulated for their straightforward reporting of the current knowledge on this controversialtopic in a tangible and meaningful way. I would like to make a few comments on their articles.First, the authors seem to downplay the potential role played by alterations in localized tissue vascu-larity in the pathogenesis of cellulite.1 However, we have recently shown that the insertion/deletion (I/D) polymorphism in the gene encoding that angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE)' may act as a major genetic risk factor for cellulite.
