Lactation associated with acidophilic pituitary adenoma, pheochromocytoma, and cystic endometrial hyperplasia in two goats.

Two female goats aged 10 and 20 years were examined for udder enlargement and persistent inappropriate lactation. Prostaglandin F2alpha treatment was ineffective. Over 5 months, one goat developed evidence of CNS disease and this goat had persistently high serum prolactin concentration. At PM examination, both goats had an acidophilic pituitary adenoma (pars distalis) and pheochromocytomas and cystic endometrial hyperplasia. This appears to be the first report of a tumour of the pituitary gland ingoats.
