Alternative Agents in Type I Diabetes in Addition to Insulin Therapy: Metformin, Alpha-Glucosidase Inhibitors, Pioglitazone,GLP-I Agonists, DPP-IV Inhibitors, and SGLT-2 Inhibitors

摘要

Several studies exist addressing insulin resistance in patients with T1DM and have stimulated an interest in studying other potential therapies.The goal of this research is to evaluate such studies and determine whether the use of alternative agents in patients with T1DM may lead to favorable outcomes such as reductions in hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), body weight, insulin requirements, and incidences of hypoglycemia.
