Surgery is one of the main pillars in the multidisciplinary treatment of breast cancer. Advances in diagnosis and adjuvant treatment have made less aggressive operations possible without affecting survival or tumor recurrence, and nowadays, conservative surgery is the technique of choice in women with breast cancer.
