Cost Control Is One of Radiology's Greatest Threats

As radiology and imaging continue to occupy a central role in patient care, those of us who provide these necessary medical services come under increased scrutiny, and our specialty becomes increasingly threatened by numerous external forces. Therefore, it is important to identify those threats, understand them, and create effective responses to them to preserve the specialty of radiology. In this article, I would like to share my opinions on what I believe to be one of the greatest threats to radiology and imaging: regulatory and business initiatives to control cost.
