I started to put this column together as I traveled home from the 2006 Intersociety Summer Conference. The summer conference brings together leaders from all the societies in the house of radiology to discuss matters of interest to their members. The 2006 conference was titled "Quality, a Radiology Imperative." The leaders heard a large number of presentations on various aspects of quality and then met in breakout sessions focused on defining the metrics radiologists can use to show the quality of our medical care.
