BASF expands presence in Asia

BASF-YPC Co.Ltd.,a joint venture between BASF and Sinopec,has produced its first chemical product,methyl acrylate,at its petrochemical site in Nanjing,China."This was the ambitious goal set by BASF and Sinopec when they established their joint venture in 2000," said Bernd Blumenberg,president of BASF-YPC."Our current aim is to start up all ten plants safely by mid-2005."
