Radiology practice in Kuwait: ambitions and obstacles.

The state of Kuwait is home to about 2 million citizens, half of whom are native Kuwaiti citizens. Among the 1 million Kuwaiti citizens, only 2,620 Kuwaiti physicians are registered in the Kuwait Medical Association in 2010. Of these 2,620 Kuwaiti physicians, fewer than 50 are radiologists. The majority of Kuwaiti doctors work in 4 main specialties: internal medicine, surgery, family medicine, and hospital administration.
