Environmental issues and health conscious communities around the globe have encouraged the practice of organic farming. Environmental disasters such as heavy metal pollution in Minamata Bay, Japan, posed serious health problems. Excessive uses of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers as well as chemicals for livestock breeding and agricultural farming are also feared to have serious health consequences. Pesticide and chemical residues in dairy and conventional agricultural products when consumed dailyfor a long period of time will build up in human bodies and may transform into serious health problems. To prevent such fearing health problems, people with high consciousness for their health, wellness, and environmental protection tend to consume organic products.
