AkzoNobel creates store-within-a-warehouse

International Paint Protective Coatings, an AkzoNobel business and leading global supplier of high-performance protective coatings and fire protection products, has joined forces with AkzoNobel's Decorative Paints Canada group, to consolidate sales and distribution operations under a "store-within-a-warehouse" concept in Dorval, Quebec. The 25,000 square-foot Dorval facility was occupied by International Paint exclusively, operating as a distribution service center for the company's protective coatings and marine products. Although the distribution center's lease agreement wasn't due to expire until early 2010, it was clear to Richard Champagne, manager of Protective Coatings Eastern Canada, that the facility's space requirement was actually larger than what they needed.
