Kawaken Fine Chemicals (Tokyo,Japan) is producing a peptide-type surfactant derived from silk,according to Surfactant Developments Newsletter.The surfactant is the sodium salt of hydrolyzed silk and lauric acid and is produced by combining a silkderived peptide with lauric acid from natural sources,the report said.
