Canadian tar sands inspire pipe coating capacity upgrades

Two Canadian manufacturers of pipe corrosion,insulation and environmental coatings are planning capacity and efficiency upgrades at their Camrose,Alberta manufacturing facilities in response to the booming tar sands industry located in Western Canada.Both Garneau Inc.,based in Nisku,Alberta,and ShawCor Ltd.,based in Toronto,plan to ramp up pipe coatings capacity at Camrose,where a unit of Oregon Steel Mills(OSM)produces 340,000 tons of pipe per year.
