PolyOne acquires ColorMatrix Group

ColorMatrix, a global supplier of liquid colourants, additives and fluor-opolymers for plastics, is being bought by PolyOne for $486 million.Markets served by ColorMatrix include rigid beverage and food packaging. A recent acquisition expanded its portfolio to include short turnaround, custom colour dispersions used in silicone processing for a broad range of medical, consumer and automotive applications. The company achieved sales of nearly $197 million for the 12 months ended 30 June 2011 and EBITDA-earnings of $43.6 million.
