摘要

This letter presents a method to fabricate high quality sol-gel films by applying hot-dip coating process combined with low temperature annealing.Optical properties such as birefringence,thickness,and surface roughness of guide have been reported.We have shown that using this technique we were able to deposit single layers with various thicknesses by varying the deposition temperature instead changing the drawing speed.The technique demonstrates its effectiveness in controlling the waveguide thickness.This method offers the possibility of forming guides with controlled birefringence,which can be used to fabricate integrated optical components.
