A pproximately 165 volunteers from the paint and relat-ed coatings industries met in Ft.Lauderdale,FL January 23-24 for the American Society for Testing Methods (ASTM) meeting.The purpose of this bi-annual meeting is to review test methods critical to companies that manufacture coatings,use coatings or supply components to the coatings industry.The two-day meeting consisted of 143 work sessions ranging in length from 15-90 minutes during which attendees re-approved or updated existing test methods and specifications,or collaborated to develop new tests,many of which are necessitated by new technology or new or impending environmental regulations.
