ASIAN DEMAND FOR CHEMICALS BOOSTS SALES FOR GERMAN FIRMWACKER

Munich,Germany-Robust Asian demand for silicones and polymers and a strategic corporate realignment helped Wacker Chemie GmbH post a three per cent increase in sales in 2004.At the company's annual press conference in Munich in mid-April,which Coatings Magazine attended,Peter-Alexander Wacker,president and CEO,said that the company generated sales of 2.54 billion Euros.The chemical segment (Wacker Silicones;Wacker Polymers;Wacker Fine Chemicals;and Wacker Polysilicon) led the growth posting a five per cent increase in sales in 2004 at 1.73 billion EUR.
