Defining core competencies

We are constantly hearing that we need to leverage our core competencies to be successful;that we must understand where our core competencies fit in the marketplace;that we must not stray into fields of activity where our core competencies do not match the needs of these new fields;and that if we do stray,we stand to loose our strength base by dilution,thus,failing at both.
