摘要

Poisson statistics are utilized throughout. The ratio of the sample count time to the blank count time is taken to be an integer. The expected blank count in the sample count time is assumed either known or well known. Confidence intervals are determined by mimicking a standard approach in discrete probability. A C++ computer code computes confidence intervals and detection limits for the expected net count. A separate code computes decision levels. Executable versions of both codes have been developed which are expected to run on most Windows based computers.
