When I first heard the news of a possible US takeover of the Hudson's Bay Company,like many Canadians,I was disheartened.Just like hockey,beavers and Louis Riel.The Hudson's Bay Company,with roots dating back to the 17th Century,was an important part of our country's history.Then this past spring,Akzo Nobel announced its acquisition of Sico Inc.,the last of the large Canadian-owned paint manufacturers.
