Not condemned to fail: Examples of 'rapped' resistance and cultural uplift in French hip-hop

Ethnocultural youths from the suburbs surrounding Paris are in crisis, suffering from numerous societal inequities. Frustrated by their lack of a voice in France, one of the only outlets available for youths of colour to express their frustration, communicate with one another or uplift themselves is the medium of hip-hop music. Although positive-themed "rap" songs calling for listeners to resist intelligently might be less numerous than some of the "hardcore" releases that encourage a more aggressive approach, they usually have a deeper impact concerning the wide dichotomy between suburban youths of colour and majority society in France.
