Definition of the inframammary fold (IMF) is important in breast reconstruction, as it dictates the degree of ptosis, the inferior pole shape, and the position of the breast mound on the chest wall.In cases where the IMF is altered by previous radiation or lumpectomy treatment, performing bilateral mastectomies results in asymmetric IMFs, complicating the immediate reconstruction. Historically, multiple techniques have been reported with the aim of improving the accuracy and aesthetics of IMF reconstruction. We present a novel operative technique that utilizes a common endotracheal tube intubating stylet to increase symmetry, accuracy, and efficiency of IMF reconstruction.
