Chemical sector M&A deal values rise in 2011 third quarter

Average deal values in the chemicals sector jumped more than 50% in the third quarter of 2011 compared to the second quarter, driven by very high value deals from US-based companies, according to a report by PricewaterhouseCoop-ers.In its latest Chemical Compounds quarterly analysis, PwC says the average value of chemical sector deals rose to $725.6 million from $476.4 million in the second quarter, leading to a third quarter total of $16 billion.
