The problem of forgotten rubber drains is a well known but possibly under reported complication in the Literature.1 This problem could possibly be related to inadequate fixation and the short length of these drains. On the other hand, forgotten vacuum drains would be considered very unusual. These are usually long and connected externally to a vacuum bag. Drains are commonly used by many authors in face lift operations. They are indicated to reduce the incidence of haematoma and to manage parotid leaks in some cases.2 Forgetting these drains in face lifts has never been reported in the literature. The reason could be the superficial and easily palpable Location of the drain in the face. We report an unusual case of a young lady who presented with a forgotten vacuum drain 3 weeks after rhitidectomy.
