AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings and Pantheon Enterprises Technology develop advanced chrome-free pretreatment

AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings has been working with Arizona-based non-chromium surface pretreatment firm Pantheon Enterprises over the last two years to develop an advanced chrome-free aircraft pretreatment that will be sold globally through AkzoNobel Aerospace Coating's global distribution network.The firms say they are ready to commercialise a new pretreatment that will be marketed under the AkzoNobel Metaflex brand. Metaflex SP has been developed to meet the AMS3095 specification as part of a number of AkzoNobel Aerospace coatings systems. Andrew Richardson, global market director at AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings, says Metaflex SP will be launched in the near future in combination with a number of new products from AkzoNobel, aimed at the MRO aviation market.
