Efficacy of open rhinoplasty approach to foreign body granuloma of the nose.

Foreign body granuloma is a serious complication after foreign material injection that is challenging to treat completely. It resides in the soft tissue for several years without any discomfort. However, foreign body granuloma can cause chronic infection and facial contour deformity. Through our experiences, we believe that perilesional surgical approach, instead of detour approaches, can lead to high patient satisfaction through contour deformity modification and infection control. In the case of nose, however, open rhinoplasty approach may be an excellent option with the merit of an unremarkable scar.
