Crown Paints has added five more oudets to its UK and Eire network of decorating centres by buying Newland Paint Supplies. The acquisition brings Crowns total number of stores to 134. Brian Davidson, Crown's chief executive, says he plans to expand the size of the stores network to 138 by the end of 2011. Founded in 1985, Newland has five branches across Yorkshire: in Bridlington, Harrogate, Hull, Scunthorpe and York. It specialises in the supply of paints and decorative materials to a wide range of trade and retail customers, stocking a limited selection of paint brands including Crown's paint and woodstain products plus a variety of wallpapers, brushes, tools and other items.
