Omya and Shiraishi establish calcium carbonate joint venture aimed at the European adhesive market

SWITZERLAND'S Omya and Shiraishi Kogyo Kaisha of Japan, two global producers of calcium carbonate, are to form a joint venture that builds on their existing working; relationship as suppliers to Europe's adhesive and sealant markets. The new joint venture, based in Golling, Austria, and called Shirai-shi-Omya, will produce ultra-fine precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC), dry coated with a primary particle size of less than 150 nanometres.
