Report predicts rise of powder coatings in Asia,but obstacles remain

The Asian powder coatings markets are poised to expand given the favorable economic conditions and growing end-user market in the region,but considerable obstacles remain,says a new report by Frost & Sullivan.Obstacles include the initial capital investment in powder coatings technology which is very high compared to traditional solvent-based coatings system.And,since regulatory standards in Asia are lax,coatings manufacturers and their customers lack this incentive to switch from conventional systems,writes Frost & Sullivan research analyst D Ashwin Kumar.
