Fat grafting in the breast.

We read with great interest Chan's and colleagues article autologous fat transfer - a review of the literature with a focus on breast cancer surgery .We agree with the authors that, to date, there is no consensus on which method affords the best results with a good long-term retention of graft volume and viability. As we already highlighted, there are two main reasons for this incertitude. The first reason is that every step of fat grafting can influence the final result. So it is very difficult to study only one aspect of fat grafting (harvesting, centrifugation, donor site, canula...) assuming the others do not influence the study. This explains why articles in literature can often advocate for two opposite methods of fat grafting.
