Axalta Coating Systems (formerly DuPont Performance Coatings) is planning to build a $50 million-plus automotive paint facility in China that will supply up to 25,000 metric tons of waterborne paint to automobile manufacturers that are expanding into south and central China. Pending final government approvals, construction is expected to begin in the second half of this year with production starting the first quarter of 2015.
