Valspar posts flat sales and earnings in second quarter, announces restructuring

Valspar reported flat income and sales despite a 7% increase in volume in the second quarter, driven by new business and inclusive of the Ace paint manufacturing assets acquired at the beginning of the year. Net income for the three months to 26 April 2013 was $76.9 million compared to $76.5 million in the year ago period. Sales for the quarter were also in line with a year ago at $1.03 billion.
