population Fluctuation of Insects Foraging on Puramelo (Citrus grandis Osbeck)

Population fluctuation in insects visiting pummelo (Citrus grandis Osbeck) was studied from 22nd February to 12th March 2002. The maximum insect population (162.5) was observed on 2nd March followed by 26th February (151.0). The different insect visitors under study viz., Apis cerana indica, A Mellifera, A. dorsata. A. florea and others shared 52.60, 20.07, 16.93, 2.42 and 7.98 respectively. The influence of temperature on the population of insects was negligible on all the visitors except maximum temperature with A. mettifera.
