Attitude of Farmers Towards Agro-forestry Plantation in North Kashmir

A study based on questionnaire was conducted during 2004-05 in Kupwara and Baramulla districts of North Kashmir to analyse farmers' attitude towards agroforestry plantation. Statistical test revealed that overall farmers' perception for selected attitude statements of agroforestry plantation was positive with a mean score of 4.05. Majority of the agroforestry farmers (45.31%) belonged to strongly favourable attitude category followed by favourable (25.78%), neutral (17.97%) and unfavourable (7.81%).Only a negligible percentage (3.13%) of the farmers were found having strongly unfavourable attitude towards agroforestry plantation. Size of land holding influenced the attitude of farmers towards agroforestry plantations.
