Onion Poisoning in Buffalo ?A Case Report

A buffalo of seven and half months of pregnancy was presented for treatment with symptoms of increased respiration, excessive salivation, staggering gait and weakness. On enquiry the owner reported that the animal accidentally ate excessive quantity of green onion leaves previous night. The animal was examined and the following observations were recorded - pulse fast and weak, body temperature 100.4 deg F, trembling, passing red urine and onion like smell from breath.
