Effect of Growth Regulators on Flowering, Fruit set and Fruit Retention in Mango

An experiment was conducted at Ranchi Agricultural College, Kanke during 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 to find out the effect of foliar spraying of growth regulators on flowering, fruit set and retention of mango cv, Amrapali. NAA 20 ppm resulted earlinessin panicle emergence, date of first and 50 % flowering, high sex ratio, increased duration of panicle emergence and higher percentage of flowering shoots, whereas, fruit set and retention were enhanced by the application of GA_3 100 ppm.
