Imperial College London is being given ￡4.5 million in public funds to investigate how the new super material graphene can contribute to the UK economy and drive improvements in high-tech industries, such as aerospace design and medical technologies. The grant is part of a ￡21.5 million capital investment announced by the government to commercialise graphene, one of the thinnest, lightest, strongest and most conductive materials to have been discovered.
