Lower TiO2 volumes to send third quarter sales and profits tumbling at Kronos

Titanium dioxide producer Kronos Worldwide is expecting lower sales and profit in the third quarter due to lower volumes as customers adjust inventories in response to continued global economic weakness and uncertainty. The company says sales are expected to be in the $480 million to $495 million range compared to $584 million in the third quarter of 2011. Lower volumes are partially offset by higher average selling prices.
