Chemicals sector M&A saw the return of the financial investor last year as well as significant rises in both the volume and value of deals. Just -how the M&A landscape played out in 2010, is outlined in an analysis by the international accountancy group PwC. PwC's Fourth-quarter 2010 global chemicals industry M&A analysis shows that total deal volume within the sector rose 11% in 2010. At the same time, the number of large deals - deals with a disclosed value greater than $50 million - was up by 25%. Furthermore, the trend towards large deals is expected to continue in 2011.
