Wattyl hammered by takeover costs

After-tax profits at Australian paint and surface coatings group Wattyl were flat at A4.3m for its 2006 fiscal year ended 30 June.Improved pricing across all segments offset a slight decline in volume which resulted from a decline in the housing market and lower renovation activity,said managing director John Nolan.
