摘要

A recent cross-sectional analysis by Tenorio et al [1] showed an increase in total regulatory T-cells (Treg) in older HIV-infected persons, as normally occurs in aging healthy subjects [2-4]. Although the authors concluded that an age-related increase in Treg might contribute to the accelerated disease progression seen in elderly HIV-infected persons, a possible effect of HIV on age-related changes in Treg was not excluded.
