THE AUTHOR in the Preface sets the tone for the XL book by stating that the reader will be addressed in a "conversational style". With a healthy dosage of exclamatory sentences and unique analogies (one even involving Robin Hood and Friar Tuck) in the first pages of the book, the author does not fail to meet expectations. Undoubtedly, this casual instructive approach sets this text apart from most, if not all others, on experimental design. Such an informal writing style will undoubtedly elicit a broad range of reactions from the book's readership.
