SENCIBILITY OF SOME INTRODUCE AND BULGARIAN MYROBOLAN CULTIVARS TO WINTER COLD

The sensibility of 7 introduced and 5 Bulgarian myrobolan cultivars and local forms in relation with the low winter temperatures was observed in the region at the town of Dryanovo in 2012. The 12th investigated myrobolan cultivars manifested a different degree of sensibility to frost bite of the fruit buds in a phase "compulsory at rest" in a result to the prolonged heavy winter frost. The Russian cultivar Otlichnitsa is the most cold resistance to winter frost -the percent of the damaged buds is 8.5%. The cultivars Jalta afuska, Idilia, Karlovska ch^rvena afuska, Vilora, Nagrada and D-150 are with a good cold resistance of the fruit buds. With a middle degree of a cold resistance are the cultivars Sinia afuska, Bistrenska and Purpurovaia. The Russian cultivars Jemchuzina and Zurna are the most sensitive to winter frost, the damages of the fruit buds are respectively 71.3% and 58.5%.
