Quiet-As-Carbon or abbreviated as Q-A-C that is what the roller producer from Duren, Walzen- Carl KRAFF'I and Sonne GmbH & Co. KG, calls its new development in roller construction, which was recently introduced into a paper making machine. A critical operating parameter for conventional rollers is the so-called semi-critical rotational speed. Continuous running of the roller in this operating range can lead to massive damage and total roller failure.
