Measuring Surface Profile on Bare Metal Surfaces Cleaned by Power Tools

SSPC created the SSPC-SP11, "Power Tool Cleaning to Bare Metal," standard in 1987 as an alternative to dry abrasive blast-cleaning for projects where a thoroughly cleaned surface was required for successful coating application, but where abrasive blast-cleaning equipment could not be used due to configuration of the areas to be cleaned or because of site-specific restrictions on use of the equipment.
