Abhe and Svoboda Awarded newport Pell Bridge Painting

The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority awarded a contract of $41,363,310 to Abhe and Svoboda, Inc. (Prior Lake, MN) to repair, clean, and recoat approximately one million square feet of structural steel surfaces on the Newport Pell Bridge. The contract requires SSPC-QP 1 and QP-2 certification. The 11,248-foot-long by 48-foot- wide suspension bridge, which was opened in 1969, connects the cities of Newport and Jamestown over the Narragansett Bay.
