Extensive research over the past ten years has shown that forced pulsed jet has a great potential for industrial cleaning, removal of coatings, and other applications where, currently, ultra-high-pressure continuous waterjet (some-times termed waterblasting) is used. Water from a pulsed jet machine leaves the nozzle as a sequence of discrete pulses (slugs). The pulsed jet can be classified, depending on the method of generation, either as natural or forced pulsed jet.~1
