FIRST RESULTS OF A COMPARATIVE TESTING OF TWO NEW INTRODUCED CULTIVARS OF MIRABELLE TYPES

In the current research are presented first results of a comparative testing of two new introduced plum cultivars of mirabelle group - 'Bellamira' and 'Miragrande'. Vegetative habit of the trees is traced and phenological observations, biometric and sensory analysis of fruits are made. Analysis of the preliminary comparative testing of two new introduced cultivars of mirabelle group - 'Bellamira' and 'Miragrande' shows that they are adaptable and can be grown under soil and climatic conditions of the Plovdiv-region.Obtained data highlight a trend of superiority of the cultivar 'Bellamira' in terms of size and taste of fruit compared with the other introduced cultivar 'Miragrande' and with control cultivar 'Mirabelle de Nancy'.
