STUDY OF TRANSMISSION OF GRAPEVINE LEAFROLLASSOCIATED VIRUS BY PARTHENOLECANIUM CORNI IN BULGARIA

Two experiments on transmission of the grapevine leafroll associated virus by Parthenolecanium (Eulecanium) corn/ were carried out. By - direct infection with Parthenolecanium corni, as well as in a controlled process of joining of the insects to thegrapevine positive results were obtained concerning the transmission of Grapevine leafroll associated virus serotype 1 (GLRaV- 1). For serotype 3 (GLRaV - 3) of the leafroll there was only one positive test in variety Rubin in the experiment of infectionof the healthy experimental plants with insects artificially infected with the grapevine leafroll associated virus. The first results from the study showed the role of Parthenolecanium corn; in the transmission of serotype GLRaV 1 of the leafroll and its significance as a vector in plantations for production of basic and certified material.
