This paper presents linear regression equations to predict the content of metabolizable energy (ME), feed units for milk (FUM) and for growth (FUG) through the content of digestible organic matter (DOM) in forages. The study included published data onnutritive value of the forages: green (N=167), silage (N=136), hay and dehydrated (N=88), grain (N=112), straw (N=57), succulents (N=37) and industrial by-products (N=157). It was found that the content of digestible organic matter closely correlated with metabolizable and net energy (FUM and FUG) - R from 0,93 to 0,99. The specific regression equations developed for the different forage groups allowed estimating the content of ME and FUM with a standard error below 3 % and that of feed units for growth - below 5 %.
